Bringing local stories to life through colour, texture & place.
At Local: Kensington, we design spaces that feel deeply connected to the people who live in them, the neighbourhoods they’re part of, and the cultural fabric of Melbourne.
To help bring that vision to life at Local: Kensington, we collaborated with Melbourne-based artist Sasha Heath on a series of three large-scale murals across our Creative Space, Private Dining Room, and Gym. Known for her vibrant, expressive style, Sasha draws on native Australian flora and fauna to create works that are both grounded and uplifting.
Each mural is inspired by Kensington’s local landscape - its textures, colours, and seasonal rhythms. From flowering eucalyptus to native birds, Sasha’s work brings the outside in, encouraging residents to slow down and connect with their surroundings.
Her pieces are bold and layered, rich with movement and warmth. They’re not just artworks, but quiet markers of place—celebrating community, creativity, and the natural beauty that exists right on our doorstep.

Art plays a quiet but powerful role in the experience of living here, and we’re proud to support Melbourne talent while creating spaces that feel alive and thoughtful.
