What makes a place feel like home? Artist Nastia Gladushchenko has a few colourful ideas.
Maybe it's the comfort of your own bed. A slow morning with nowhere to be. Or time spent with the people who know you best.
For contemporary artist Nastia Gladushchenko, these everyday moments are worth celebrating.
And they're the inspiration behind The Shape of Home, a collection of 12 original paintings created for Local: South Melbourne.
Meet Nastia
Based in the Blue Mountains in NSW, Nastia is a painter and mural artist known for her expressive use of colour, flowing shapes and playful compositions.
Her work often explores the relationship between people, nature and the places we spend our time.
Originally trained in interior architecture, she's particularly interested in how spaces make us feel, and how colour, light and design can shape our everyday experiences.
It's a perspective that feels right at home at Local.
Meet The Shape of Home
Created specifically for Local: South Melbourne, The Shape of Home celebrates the moments and connections that turn somewhere we live into somewhere we belong.
The collection begins in the Lobby and continues onto Level 4, bringing colour and creativity into the spaces residents share.
Each painting has its own story.

Under the Covers captures that wonderfully cosy feeling of staying in bed just a little longer than you should.
Togetherness celebrates the joy, fun and occasional chaos of spending time with people who really get you.
Cocooning reflects the way our homes can become places to retreat, grow and recharge.
Other works draw inspiration from nature and the world outside.
First Light celebrates the beauty of a new day, while Kaleidoscopic Earth explores the incredible range of colours and textures found in even the smallest details of the natural world.
And then there's Have a Golden Day.
Nastia describes it as a wish for everyone to enjoy a day filled with warmth, sunshine and a little bit of luck.
We think that's a pretty lovely message to come home to.

A little more than four walls
At Local, we believe feeling at home goes beyond your apartment.
It's also about the spaces you share, the people you meet and the little moments that make everyday life enjoyable.
That's why Nastia's collection feels so fitting.
From the moment residents walk into the Lobby, The Shape of Home introduces a little warmth, personality and colour.
And perhaps a reminder that home isn't just a place.
It's a feeling.
