Contemporary artist Meagan Streader explores light, reflection, and architectural space through her sculptural practice.
Her installation A Falling Window, featured in Lobby 1 at Local: Box Hill, combines textured glass, LED lighting, and black acrylic framing to create a dynamic interplay of illumination and material.
The rippled glass refracts light, producing shifting reflections as viewers move past. Drawing on traditional leadlight and stained-glass windows while reimagining them in a modern context, Meagan’s work transforms the lobby into a contemplative space where architecture and light interact. The installation emphasises how the perception of space changes with light, movement, and engagement, making everyday environments more immersive.
By situating her work in the main lobby, Meagan’s installation encourages residents coming home to notice light, texture, and reflection, adding layers of interest and discovery to communal areas.
A Falling Window exemplifies how contemporary sculpture can enhance residential design, turning ordinary spaces into immersive experiences that spark curiosity and engagement.
